Born and raised in New England, I was brought up enjoying hiking, camping and fishing. As I got older I grew to enjoy rock climbing (mostly in the Shawangunk “Gunks” Mountains), which finally led me to my first desert vacation experience. A friend and I traveled regularly to the Southwest for years, climbing and backpacking, until I finally decided to leave the East Coast in 1999. I lived many places along the way, but made a home for myself outside of Phoenix, where I dove head-first into all the area had to offer. There I fell into a small group of like-minded people and discovered technical canyoneering. The canyon bug bit me hard. In 2009 I moved from Phoenix to Southern Utah. In 2010 I joined the awesome team of guides and outfitters at Zion Adventure Company.
